The triumphant heart

The heart has many moods--sad, lonely, happy, forlorn, exultant.

The heart has many positive attributes--generosity, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, love.

But above all, the heart is resilient. It weathers deep disappointments and embraces exhilarating joys. It is the one constant in our inner lives and outward expressions.

The heart--magical, mystical, triumphant.

Simply nothing like it!

  1. Yes, the heart is a most interesting thing - I agree with you, but also think of Jeremia 17,9 "The heart is a deceitful thing - who can fathom it..."

  9. Sorry, not much of a poet here. The heart pumps blood to the body. The part of us which has the qualities you express are neither mind nor body, but something more permanent and real.
