Dreamin'

Dreamin’

No dream is born without a heart-stopping moment of brilliant introspection.

No dream is sustained without the rousing applause of our strongest supporter.

No dream is fulfilled without a heady sense of ambition coupled with humility.

Your dream, my friend, can and will be achieved. Embrace it!

The child within

Never be so grown up that you fail to cherish the child within you. Release that child and spread love to all.

Friendship!

Friendship is a blessing in no disguise, straightforward, unswerving, true. Friendship is a wonder in my eyes, constant, never-ending, forever. Friendship is you!

Squeezers welcome!

Today, my palate craved a peach. The neighborhood fruit market has a “ripe” sense of humor. Little handwritten signs are set around the peach table. “You can squeeze the peaches if I can squeeze your head. Da!” “Hey, don’t squeeze my peaches. Understand?” I chuckled as I spotted a nice Georgia peach. I gently clasped the fuzzy fruit to test its squeeze-ability. It passed the test! Now, where’s the cream?

Hugs for all!

Today, I was in a hurry to get home. But the driver in front of me was taking her sweet time making her turn. I tooted the horn impatiently, muttering under my breath. Then I noticed her license plate: “Hug-em.” I thought, “How cute and cuddly!”  Silently, I thanked her for reminding me there are good people out there spreading cheer. Thanks, Hug-em!

Breeze

If I were a breeze, I would lift you into the air and take you along for a ride through the billowing clouds. We’d land on a sunbeam to soak up the warmth, then off to soar over the glistening waters of a placid sea. We’d sail over lush forests and glimmering beaches, passing a cascading waterfall.  I would set you gently back on Mother Earth. ‘Bye for now, friend, I enjoyed this moment. I will return!

Oh, those blueberries!

Today, I met a spry old gentleman at the grocery deli counter. Waiting his turn, he said, “Got more time than money!” I let him in ahead of me, and he nodded his thanks. Eyes twinkling, he looked at me and boasted heartily, “Just turned 90. It’s the blueberries!” We both smiled wide and I exclaimed, “So that’s your secret!” He nodded and walked away, a spring in his step. Pass the blueberries!

Pure magic

How many people can we say this about: “We really bonded!” Connections of the human spirit are as vital as the breaths we take. Make a friend. Find a soul mate. Indulge yourself in the magic of bonding!

Three things

Three things I strive to be:

1. Humble
2. Generous
3. Loving

These three things are the key to a fulfilling life. You can be confident, yet still exercise humility. You can be generous, yet still command respect. You can be loving, yet still be lovable in every way.

Three things to strive for every day!

Smiles all around

Today, the McDonald’s manager smiled as she told me an uplifting story. Seems that a drive-through customer decided to pay for the next patron’s order. The ripple effect was astounding. Five more customers paid it forward before the generous string of kindness ran its course. That made me smile. Two smiles are better than one!

Us

I occupy this little space
In my little world
Until....
I dream bigger
And reach farther
Where....
I can truly connect
With
You
Let's dream together
Let's occupy the same
Space
As friends

Whistle!

I love the song, “Whistle while you work!” from Disney. But I don’t find too many workers who whistle, much less hum. The workplace often seems so glum. So when I saw the worker at the grocery store whistle as he stacked bread on the shelf, I grew heartened. He seemed so happy. It rubbed off. I’m readying my lips right now for a good old whistle!

Double dose of affection

Today, a tall young man waited to be served at an optometrist’s office. His preschool-aged son ran headlong toward dad, grabbing one leg tightly. The top of the boy’s head did not even reach dad’s knee. Then I saw the youngster run to his mom, burying his head in her loving hands. Affection—two for the price of one!

Family hop

Today at a busy intersection a family waited to cross safely. The baby was bundled up in the carriage, the toddler secure on his leash. As they entered the crosswalk, I saw something tied to the mother's back flapping in the brisk wind. A backpack? Nope, it was a giant stuffed frog. Moving fast, the whole family seemed to have a hop in their step!

Hug

If a hug could speak, it would say, “I woke up happy today and wanted to share myself with someone. That someone is you. Come here, you look like you need me. There, there, now doesn’t that feel better? I hope I gave you a little pick-me-up. I’m part of you now. I’m part of your heart. Now, get on out there and pass me along!”

Giddy!

Ever felt giddy? Love will do that to you. Normally we behave well in polite company. But during private moments with a beloved one, we can unveil our true selves and become, well, just plain giddy. Get giddy. Our inner child depends upon it!
