The power

What power we wield.

The power to be harsh, or gentle.

The power to be critical, or supportive.

The power to be secretive, or sharing.

The power to belittle, or inspire.

The power to be selfish, or love.

How are we using our power?

  4. Do we really have so much power? And here I was feeling rather powerless...

  5. Even those of us who feel we have no power - in fact do. Now that's food for thought. Just poking my head in to see what you were inspired to write today. Thank you.

  8. Thank you for linking back up to me. When I checked my email I came and read this and realized that even though I am tired, and being rather upset with my children today for not behaving so that I could get a little bit asleep, I realized it's not in their power to be any other than kids. Working third shift and getting up with the kids is hard but I shouldn't be punishing them for it.

    Thank you again.

  9. @ Jingle, thanks for your nice sentiments!

@ Queen Bug, I appreciate your comments. As a parent (now grandparent) I recall the times when my kids' demands came between me and a good night's rest. It was definitely an exercise in patience!

  10. Hi Ron,

In my humble experience we all hold a lot of power. With power come choices that are dictated by our hearts and minds. Its important to live in the moment to make conscious decisions in deciding how we will use our power through choices. Its free will...

  25. I often forget, as a high school teacher, how much power I really have. Kids are so impressionable, even when they try to act so tough...

  34. Wow. This makes one think. We do have power, because others let us have power over them, because words and actions can inspire or can hurt. We must strive to do a better job in life embracing goodness and thinking about how our words and actions affect others. Thanks for putting things in perspective with your list.
